Tobe Ekwomadu

I can’t believe I’m writing this about my brother to be honest. It’s too soon. Certain people leave a lasting impression and you’re one of them. We grew up together many years ago in Warri shell camp, and the lasting warmth of you and your nucleus family can still be felt. Ugo & Chinedu doing what they do, Amaka & Chi chi chatting away in a room somewhere, whilst you, Uzo, Buchi & I played outside with a football or something.

Even though life sent us our different ways with you ending up in the US and me in the UK, we still kept in touch via the usual channels. What I remember about you is that you were always patient, kind and caring. There are certain people that you just know would help as best they could if asked. You were one of them. I can only imagine what your family (and extended family and friends) are feeling right now. All I’ll say is, some souls are too good for this world, so God takes them early. You’ll be missed by many, which is really all we can hope for when we’re gone. It shows the impact you had in your time here. Rest peacefully brother, and say hi to Chinedu and your Dad for me. We’ll see you all when we get there. Love always, Tobe ❤️️️
